I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico until my early teens when my parents and grandparents moved us to Tesuque Pueblo. My maternal grandfather was from Tesuque Pueblo (full-blood) and my maternal grandmother is half Isleta Pueblo, half European-Celtic mix. My father was raised in Farmington and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

I spent my teen years as an active member of Tesuque Pueblo (participating in ceremonial dances, etc.) and in doing so, expanded my experience and understanding of spirituality. Although I am no longer active in the community, it is home; the years I spent participating in the dances established a spiritual foundation that continues to nourish my heart.

During the years at the Pueblo, we were also much more active in the Catholic church. This deepened my connection with Jesus. From the time I was just a few years old, I would sing songs to and about God and Jesus. My more official introduction to Jesus in this lifetime was from watching “Jesus Christ Superstar – A Rock Opera” at a very young age. Watching that movie, along with “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” foreshadowed the earthy, Christian non-duality I would embrace later in life.
